The term Freestyle dance explains on its own about the dance form. Originally it was a style where dancers brought in spontaneous movement, non choreographed, adding own personal style and expression to the dance. There were no structure to what can be done or how you can execute it.
It still remains so but since many of us are not born blessed with rhythm and knack of body movement, the freestyle dance class has gained popularity. The class gives you structured choreography which allows you to express lyrically or by by body movement. The added advantage of this dance style is you can select from wide variety of music of your choice.
In general, Dancing has several health benefits and freestyle dance is one of the best way let yourself loose, express your joy, sadness and any kind of emotions that you may be feeling, while moving specific or every parts of your body & mixing several styles of dance.
